My son Nick turned 23 on Sunday (How is that even possible?? In my head I still picture him as a cute little boy). My sister and her three kids came over to help us celebrate. In our family, the birthday boy or girl gets to pick the menu and the cake. Nick is a peanut butter cup fiend, and ever since he was little his favorite dessert has been my Peanut Butter Cup Cake. He requests it every year. Lucky for me, it’s a fast and simple dessert that looks a lot more complicated than it actually is.
If you can make a cake from a boxed mix, you can make this dessert.
Mix up your favorite chocolate cake mix (or make it from scratch if you’re feeling ambitious), spread some thinned out peanut butter over the top, finish with chocolate frosting and peanut cups and you’re done.
You can’t beat the chocolate peanut butter combo and it takes no time at all to put together.
This cake is a huge crowd pleaser and there usually isn’t much left when I make it for family parties.
If you have peanut butter cup lovers in your family, give it a try!
I’m linking my Peanut Butter Cup Cake up at some terrific blog parties – you can find the complete list of places I party HERE.
